Have fun with the décor

Deciding on the décor for your Fantastic Beasts party is bound to be a lot of fun. A good addition to your setup will undoubtedly be a replica of Newt Scamander’s niffler, together with a stash of chocolate coins and fake jewelry. Newt’s suitcase and his scarf feature extensively in the movie and definitely deserve a place of honour at your party. You can use the suitcase as a photo prop or leave it open and fill it with a variety of party favours. Print out a couple of ‘Wanted’ posters featuring Newt, Porpentina, Jacob, & Queenie to stick on a wall and don’t forget to bring out your Fantastic Beasts and other fantastical books to put on display as part of you magical décor.

Don’t forget the fantastic food and drinks

Whether your Fantastic Beasts party is for a child or a young-at-heart adult, you can have a lot of fun with the food and drink. Wizard wands are an absolute must and you can easily whip up a batch by dipping pretzel sticks into melted chocolate. Other great party foods include niffler-topped cupcakes, bowtruckle biscuits, Queenie’s strudel and, of course, a batch of homemade crackers with a mini cauldron of beetroot dip. As far as drinks are concerned, giggle water (just like what Jacob drank) is an absolute must. You can make it as boozy or innocent as you wish, although serving both options is probably the best idea if you want to ensure that none of your guests feel left out.

What other fantastical party themes are there?

While Fantastic Beasts will undeniably make for a superb birthday party theme, it may not be appeal to everyone. Thankfully there are a number of other equally fantastical birthday party themes you can choose from. The unicorn craze has been around for quite some time and is not expected to dwindle anytime soon. A unicorn party complete with glittery decor and colourful treats are bound to be a hit among girls of all ages. Although unicorns and fairies are pretty, guys may prefer a Harry Potter or mythical creatures  themed party more. There are no rules when it comes to throwing a fantastical party, as long as the birthday boy or girl is happy and the guests are bound to have a good time, you can let your imagination run wild.

A birthday party is always an exciting occasion. By choosing a fantastical theme, you are bound to pull off a party that will be fondly remembered for many years to come.

Festive Llama Birthday Party

This Festive Llama Birthday Party was decorated fantastically by Quaintly Amusing. Vibrant colors brought this party to life along with adorable decor including llamas and desert details.  An exciting treat table was placed expertly in front of a window, allowing natural lighting to fill the space perfectly.  A wooden pallet made a neat backdrop with the birthday girl’s name front and center in pink lettering. The border of the pallet was enhanced with colorful paper poms of varying colors and sizes to draw the eye.

The table itself was covered with a white cloth, ensuring that the bright green of the cacti decorations would stand out boldly.  Around the front of the table, miniature cacti made a nice border to introduce the them. A wonderful cactus pinata stood at the back of the table in fun fashion right beside a llama one.  A cute little sign advertising the party was placed on the other side of this table as well. There was even a small light up cactus at the back to give a lovely bit of illumination.

Large jars were filled with a variety of tasty candies in rainbow colors to blend with this festive theme deliciously.  The cake was an adorable two layer llama with exquisite details and an array of colors. It was even topped with little stand up ears! To spoil the little guests, each one was given their own stuffed llama to take home.

To make this party truly one of a kind, this special vip got to experience their own little petting zoo!  The only thing better than adorable llama decorations is being able to visit with a real one. This miniature zoo also had other animals for the visitors to enjoy checking out including goats and ducks.  The party was sure to be a complete success with entertainment for all the children!

Don’t forget about the signs! There are many different circus-themed signs available to label all of your activities. You can use the signs to make it seem like you have different booths just like a real circus or carnival.

Consider adding lights around the ceiling or on the walls. If you’re having an outdoor party hand lights all throughout the party area would look spectacular. Repurpose last year’s white Christmas lights into something magical.

Balloons are also a quick and easy decoration and are often found throughout carnivals. Use an array of colorful balloons around the dessert table or have someone hand out balloons to guests to make them feel like they are truly at a carnival. You can also find circus themed balloons such as lions or clowns to display.

Give everyone guests tickets on arrival. You can find large rolls of tickets at some party stores or Amazon. Guests can use the tickets to play a raffle draw.

Popcorn is an easy treat that guests will love to snack on. You can also purchase red and white popcorn buckets. If you want to serve a meal, corn dogs or hot dogs are the perfect circus food!
