Sweet Pink Winter ONEderland

Laurie from Feather and Fray put on a beautiful party for a gorgeous little girl, filling the space with all things pink and pretty. A mixture of rich treats, soft fabrics, and airy, crisp colors of pinks and whites made this party a delightful and bright event full of love and sweetness as the guests celebrated the little princess’ first birthday.

Sweet Pink Winter wonderland ideas

A main event table was set up with long ribbons of pink and white tulle knotted along the entire edge, with complimenting tufted flowers of pink and white tulle posing as a table back drop along a wide space of the wall. Garland letters reading “Winter ONEderland” were strung up from the ceiling surrounded by dangling snowflakes of all sizes. A picture frame sat prominently on the side of the table facing guests, with a chevron insert that offered a welcome message.

A one-layered cake with frilly ombred pink and white icing sat in the center of the table with birthday wishes written on top and a bright pink sign in front that read “SWEET”. Tall, glass apothecary jars full of Hershey’s kisses, sweet candies, white powdered doughnuts, and glimmering pink rock candy surrounded the birthday cake and bringing the look of a pink winter wonderland to life. Shining white platters presented pink frosted cupcakes with candied snowflakes on top, pale pink macaroons, elaborately decorated snowflake sugar cookies, and white chocolate dipped pretzels. Cake pops dipped in silver sprinkles looked absolutely magical, while sparkling juices with striped pink straws were offered to the guests. Gray, chevron pattered signs offered cute labels for all of the delicious food.

The little birthday girl was dressed in a fluffy tutu and a fuzzy hat, looking adorable, and making sure this birthday party was anything but warm and full of love.

What Laurie said about the Sweet Pink Winter ONEderland party:

An Associate Event Planner at Elite Events in Toledo, Ohio as well as a mother of two- I wanted to create an over-the-top feminine bash to celebrate my sweet daughter Aubrie turning ONE! I drew my inspiration from my own work experience with parties and my natural crafting ability. I always envisioned a pink and grey winter theme for her first birthday party. We decided to throw the party at our home in Bowling Green, Ohio.

I wanted a Pretty-in-Pink menu and only offered food that matched the color scheme in order to carry the color theme throughout the party. The key to this table of sweets? Sprinkles. I hand dipped pink marshmallows and strawberries in white chocolate and covered them with grey sprinkles. More complicated desserts such as the pink macaroons with sparkly accents, the snowflake sugar cookies, and the vanilla with strawberry filled snowflake cupcakes were outsourced from Sugar Shack Specialty Sweets. The pink ruffle birthday cake (with ombre layers inside) also had bright pink sprinkles on the top of the cake and it was created by a family friend Sue Reidling.

I used apocathary jars (rented from Elite Events) and filled them with white powdered donut holes, silver Hersey’s kisses, pink m&m’s, marshmallows, and pink and white rock candy. I also filled little containers with pink chocolate covered almonds and raspberry yogurt covered pretzels.

I did not want to overload the family with only desserts and sugar, so I also served white or pink snacks such as brie and cheddar cheeses, homemade salmon dip, a mixed fruit salad, and homemade old fashion pink popcorn (I found a recipe online). The drinks were light and dark pink Izzy drinks (grapefruit and black cherry flavors).
The sweets did double duty as party favors! I purchased grey and white chevron baggies and guests were able to take delicious sweets home with them after the party.

Gorgeous and tasty food/drinks are only one aspect to a good party-decor plays a very important role. I wanted Aubrie in a tutu dress that I found, so I decided I would use tulle to create a backdrop and table skirt. I wanted to do something unique, that I haven’t seen before and decided on a tulle pom backdrop. I used three shades of pink (hot pink, a muted bubble gum pink, and a soft rose) along with a silvery grey. I searched online and found an easy no sew tutorial and 8 hours later had a gorgeous feminine backdrop. I then found a grey and white chevron fabric from hobby lobby and decided to use it as a tablecloth top. I wanted a tutu table skirt so I attached tulle strips I cut to the table, in order to achieve the girly look I wanted.

I handmade all of the tented cards (grey chevron paper with pink background) for the food and carried the winter theme with the names such as: “snow drizzled strawberries”, “sugar snow cookies”, ” “snow covered marshmallows”, “icicles”, and “snowballs”. Snowflake ornaments were pulled out of my Christmas decor storage and strung from the ceiling. I painted branches white and hung snowflake ornaments and mini tulle poms from the branches and placed those throughout the party area in tall vases from Elite Events. The birthday banner “Winter ONEderland” was purchased from a company on Etsy.com called PaperPartyParade and it was custom made for the party. I bought the grey chevron dessert bags and the grey and pink stripey straws from the Elite Events Boutique.

40th Las Vegas Casino Birthday Party

A 40th birthday is a huge milestone that should be rung in with a big celebration and Brittany of GreyGrey Designs did just this, incorporating a fabulous Las Vegas casino theme into an unforgettable birthday party. Simple colors of black, white, and red were used imaginatively to create a party in the image of a Las Vegas casino, wowing guests and making the experience an absolutely unforgettable one.

The decorations were reminiscent of a Las Vegas night, and it felt as though the guests were walking into Caesar’s Palace itself. Streamers made out of playing cards were strung up along the venue, while bouquets of huge feathers sat atop tall candlesticks and vases. The main event table had a glossy black sheen with a shiny backdrop complete with hundreds of miniature images of casino game cards. The incredible birthday cake, however, was the highlight of the table, stacked up into three elaborate tiers complete with a big, white sugar fondant of “40”. The bottom two tiers were decorated in red and black shapes of cards like diamonds, and the top layer was extremely detailed, made up of two large red and white dice. A topper consisted of an edible replica of the “Welcome to Vegas” sign, but instead read the words “Welcome to Fabulous Beau’s 40th Birthday”.

Other treats that were equally as detailed and beautiful on the main table were red dice Jell-O molds pops, red and white Marshmallow pops topped with sprinkles, Dipped Oreos, and frosted sugar cookies in play card and chip designs. Savory fares included grilled chicken and caprese shish kabobs and all of the delicious food had its own personalized label made from a playing cards. Favors were an assortment of fun as well, with the guests taking home bar nuts in personalized party cans and decks of personalized casino cards. It truly was the perfect way to start a fantastic fortieth year.

Glamorous Frozen Birthday Party

Lima Limao created an elegant and glamorous way to celebrate at this Frozen Birthday Party.  The blue and white blend of colors allowed a wintry atmosphere that any Elsa fan could be excited about.

The snack table was a vision of Disney magnetism, covered top to bottom in elements that brought the entire theme into a delicious array of detailing. The backdrop used was a sweet white translucent fabric that covered adorable snowflake lights for a soft lighting.  Directly in front of the fabric a spread of lovely snowflakes hung, each unique and shimmering in white and gray.

A replica of Elsa’s gorgeous castle was created, offering a detailed decoration that emphasized the theme spectacularly. In front, Elsa, Anna, Sven and Christoff were displayed in all their Disney fun.  In the other corner not to be ignored, was Olaf, acting as a beverage server standing behind a lovely tray of bottles with blue and white straws that were decorated with wonderful blue sequins and snowflakes.

In between all of the yummy treats and entertaining decorations, sweet white flowers brought in a natural touch that filled the table with beauty. Each flower arrangement was placed in a unique holder, offering all kinds of different looks that blended beautifully.

The treats blended with the theme wonderfully as well.  Blue macaroons with bright raspberries stood out on a pretty silver tray.  Cake pops covered in light blue were decorated with cute little snowflakes, and towering cookie sandwiches added glittery shine to the table. There were even adorable little Olaf treats with him floating, looking quite delicious.

Set up to steal the show on a large tray, the cake was immaculate in detailing, offering a tasty and fantastic centerpiece to the table. Three decadent layers of beauty covered in blue and white, trees and snowflakes exuded the theme with a presence that couldn’t be over-emphasized.

Dinosaur Jungle Birthday Party

Celebrating a 2nd birthday party is a fun and cheerful occasion, and event stylist Miss Deliciouza put on a momentous one for little Tarjan with a fantastical theme of Dino/Jungle. No details were spared in this party fit for a little dinosaur fan and the venue truly looked as though you stepped into prehistoric times. Decorations were bright and creative, with splashes of oranges and greens, and accessories of dinosaurs, fossils, and monkeys. Even plants with thick leaves that you’d find in the jungle were placed around as awesome accents. Food tables were draped in safari-khaki colored tablecloths and the food was a feast for not only the tummy, but also for the eye.

Dinosaur Jungle Birthday Party food table

The cake was round, one-tiered, and covered in incredible sugar fondant detail. Images of trees were molded around the base of the cake, while replicas of monkeys, and dinosaurs were molded on the top, sides, and all around it. A back drop and a framed sign were behind and in front of the amazing cake with the birthday boy’s name in big, wooden block letters. Huge glass apothecary jars were filled with chocolates and candies, while cocoa cake pops with green leaf bows were aplenty on shiny black serving platters. Orange and green frosted cupcakes sat on round wood pieces of tree and humongous candy bars wrapped in personalized dino party themed paper made for perfect favors. The presentation of these favors made them even more memorable, as the candy bars were placed on black plates with rock pebbles surrounding them for ultimate jungle effect. Clear plastic cups full of a gelatin dessert were labeled “Jelly Shots” and there were even plastic dinosaur eggs split open and spilling out more delicious candies.

This party was full of innovative ideas that transformed an otherwise routine birthday party into something unforgettable. With great attention to details, this event virtually came to life as a world filled with prehistoric fantasy and fun.
