With inspiration from a Dr. Seuss classic, this Oh the Places You’ll Go birthday party was a fantastic display of imagination. Cindy Lee, mother and party planner felt that the book had such a meaningful message, this theme would relay their importance for years to come. Using the vibrant colors that the book displays, purple, yellow, turquoise and some hot pink, the venue for this party was sure to impress. Balloons and stripes were also used to emphasize the fun that this theme portrays.
The venue chosen for this birthday adventure was at the Pretend City Children’s Museum in Irvine, CA, which is actually a wonderful non-profit educational institution, making it the perfect location for a book themed gathering.
The main table had a yarn focus, used as a symbol for prosperity and long life, giving a special meaning to the fun decor. White manzanita trees with gorgeous yellow buds were made out of mini styrofoam balls and yarn. For a unique touch, styrofoam balls decorated with yarn were used in vases for a fun, colorful display. Fantastic stands were made out of candlesticks and wooden plaques, which were painted with white acrylic for an adorable DIY addition.
The cake was sweetly put together in two layers of simple white frosting, topped with a custom paperweight doll from that make the perfect topper. The bottom of each layer was wrapped in a blue color, adding a touch of brightness.
With all kinds of other personal additions to this event, it was chock-full of fun for everyone to enjoy!
